SCOTT WEILAND Slams ROLLING STONE Magazine's 'Gossip Columnists'
December 26, 2003VELVET REVOLVER frontman Scott Weiland (ex-STONE TEMPLE PILOTS) has posted the following message on the band's official web site:
"First of all let me say that Rolling Stone magazine's gossip columns exist only so rich college boys can wipe their fucking asses with the rag. As for the lad that interviewed me and then printed that I was drunk driving... get your facts straight you moron paparazzi fuck."
As previously reported, Weiland is currently completing a six-month stay in a residential rehab facility in Pasadena, California, after an October 27 arrest for driving under the influence of drugs. He was recently placed in a strict lockdown after reportedly trying to smuggle drugs into the center.
Weiland was allowed out last month to complete vocals for VELVET REVOLVER's debut album, although reports that he still had one song to finish were not confirmed.
The album, which was produced by Josh Abraham (LIMP BIZKIT, STAIND) and mixed by Andy Wallace (NIRVANA, WHITE ZOMBIE, LINKIN PARK, SLAYER, SEPULTURA),was mastered last week in New York City and has been handed over to RCA Records, who are scheduled to release it on April 27, 2004.
VELVET REVOLVER's current lineup is completed by former GUNS N' ROSES members Slash (guitar),Duff McKagan (bass),and Matt Sorum (drums),along with guitarist Dave Kushner from Dave Navarro's (JANE'S ADDICTION) band.
